Cimitero Ebraico in Okopowa Street
In the Jewish Cemetery in the Okopowa Street you can see memorials of such figures as famous rabbi Szlomo Lipszyc, Jewish writter Icchak Lejb Perec, actress Ester Rachel Kaminska or the creator of esperanto language Ludwik Zamenhof. There are over 200 000 tombstones, with the oldest one dating back to 1807. Most of them are made of highly decorative materials, e.g. granite, colorful sandstone or gemstone. In the other part of the cemetery there are many monumental tombstones, sarcophagi and mausolea that are full of ornaments. Columns, arcades and carvings are present on most of them.
